Here are some ideas you might like to try:
Here is a prayer from Derby Cathedral
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and life up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Chris Jesus our Lord.
We want to encourage you to find a way to pray, day by day.
In the Morning
I start each day with the Bible.
Next week is Holy Week and I suggest we take our daily readings from Walking Through Holy Week with Matthew.
Then starting on Easter day I suggest we read 40 Days with Jesus which will help us to think about the resurrection appearances.
Mike and Ali are also using this service each day at 12:00noon. So if you want to you could use the same prayers at the same time.
This is also available via the Time to Pray app for a smartphone or tablet.
At the end of the day I review the day with God. This is called the examen and comes from St Ignatius (1491-1556).
You can read Peter Grieg's Introduction to The Examen to learn more.
This has been one of the most formative spiritual practices in my life.
