About St Lawrence's Church
St Lawrence's is a Church of England church with a core of committed members.
Our congregation is made up of people from many different backgrounds, spanning a wide age range (0 – 105) and with preferences for different styles of service.
We are an integral part of the community.
A large proportion of the population of the parish will pass through our doors at some point during the year. St. Lawrence’s is a place people turn to in times of joy and sorrow.
We have a keen sense of our mission.
We are called to love God and love our neighbours as ourselves. So we seek to worship God, to care for others and to be a faithful Christian witness to our community.
Aims
-
To worship God = being with Jesus
We encourage people to come to Weekly Worship and to read their bibles and pray in their daily devotions.
-
Children and Youth
We see our children and youth as today’s church and tomorrow’s leaders and so we invest in them through our Toddlers Group, Powerpack, and Youth Group because we want them to reach their full potential.
-
Discipleship = Becoming more like Jesus
We love to invite our guests to come again, to join the family of God in Hungerford, to debate the gospel and to become more like Jesus by offering Alpha and Home Groups.
-
Mission = Doing what Jesus did
We want to love our neighbours as ourselves, so we eat and drink together and we serve the people of Hungerford in word and deed
e.g. through our Foodbank, courses such as The Bereavement Journey, and Tree Planting.
