Church and Community - Looking after the Earth

Please come and join us for our eco conference on

Saturday 18 June

at St Lawrence’s church Hungerford

from 10.00 – 4.00pm

Bishop Olivia, Bishop of Reading will be welcoming us and introducing the speakers. Many of you will know Dr Mike Morecroft (IPCC) who will be speaking about What is the challenge? Our second speaker is Rev Margot Hodson who will help us to think about why is it important to care about the earth? Finally St Lawrence is one of 4,500 eco churches in the UK and Helen Stephens will speak about the amazing growth of the eco church movement which now includes every Church of England Diocese.

After lunch there will be a series of seminars including

  • HEAT your home without costing the earth by John Downe
  • Zero emissions motoring by Hungerford Environmental Action Team
  • How to make a wild flower meadow by Charles Flower
  • Becoming an eco church by Helen Stephens from A Rocha UK
  • Partnering the woodland trust by John Tucker from the Woodland Trust

The whole conference is FREE so please register by emailing Admin@StLawrencesHungerford.org.uk and it would be great if you can bring a friend too.

We are looking forward to welcoming many people from Hungerford and hope and pray that as a result we will live a more sustainable lifestyle so that we pass on the planet to our children and grandchildren in better health than it is now.

See you there.
