Good News

On Sunday 20 August, George Ham and Mike Saunders signed the letter of intent to enable the building of a hall, a kitchen and loos within the back of church.

Our vision at St Lawrences is to love God, to become more like Jesus and to love our neighbours. We love God through our weekly worship and daily prayers and our church building is perfect for weekly worship. We become more like Jesus by eating and drinking together, by serving in the Sunday teams and by discussing the things of God in home groups and more and more people are joining these teams and groups.

But our building is not ideal for loving our neighbours in word and deed. So the new hall will be separately heated by green electricity so that BabySong, Toddlers, Tuesday communion and Coffee corner will all be warm enough to continue to meet through the winter. Similarly, the kitchen will comply with the legislation and we hope and pray we might be able to restart a regular lunch club.

Feltham construction will start on site on Monday 18 September 2023 and so the church building will be closed Monday to Friday to enable them to work safely. But we hope the church will be open as usual every weekend and if all goes well the work should be finished by Easter Sunday 29 March 2024.

So far we have raised £460,000 and we need to raise another £335,000. So the building work and the fund raising work begins now.

Please join me in praying that almighty God will do “more than all we ask or imagine” so that by this time next year we will all have grown in faith.
